Reservatie vooraf is verplicht.

This network of 3 bivouac areas in the heart of the Ardennes has been developed by the authority of 'La Grande Forêt de Saint-Hubert' in the vast forests of township Libin. All three are strictly connected to the long distance (walking) trail ‘Entre Lesse et Lomme’ for thru-hikers. Maximum 20 hikers allowed at one bivouac area in 10 tents (max 2 persons in 1 tent). No cyclists. Groups of more than 20 hikers need permission in advance from the Walloon Agency for Nature and Forests (DNF). All hikers can stay up to 16 hrs (1 night) at each bivouac area. Arrival after 5 pm, departure for your next trekking stage the following morning before 9 am, so no occupation or tents between 9 am and 5 pm. Reservation (free) is essential and compulsory. Bivouac areas should not be confused with small campings, rules are different, comfort facilities limited or non-existent and you are personally responsible to keep the area spotlessly clean and quiet during your short stay. Campfires are not allowed at all times. Toilet available at some places but not everywhere. No water pumps. There might be a spring, stream or river nearby, but make sure you carry enough drinking water. Use of alcoholic drinks is prohibited. Any approach by a motorized vehicle is strictly forbidden. These bivouac areas can be busy during holidays and nice weather weekends, when lots of thru-hikers pass by. Respect nature, silence and other hikers’ rest. Violation of rules in force can be subject to legal prosecution or a penalty. Enjoy your short stay in the Ardennes nature. Leave no trace, just your footsteps.
